RePosted • @bikewalkalameda Heads Up: 2023 Transportation Report and 2024 Work Plan Coming Soon!

The City’s Annual 2023 Transportation Report and 2024 Work Plan will be published and circulated soon. While we don’t yet know what’s in them, we know that an alarming number of important projects in last year’s plan slipped.

There were some successes, like Clement improvements from Grand to Broadway, which we should see breaking ground soon, but planned construction of a majority of capital projects did not happen, as our Project Tracker makes clear.

We’re very concerned that without greater resourcing now (more staff, more contracting), project delivery will continue to be a problem. Further, that project slippage will jeopardize very important long-term adopted targets, like 2030 for our Backbone Low Stress Network, and 2035 for Vision Zero.

We need to change this trajectory. If you want to help, please visit our Project Tracker page to learn more, and stay tuned for updates!
